Buying gold or diamond jewellery is a big spend, and most cashback cards pay nothing on it. Only four popular cards still reward jewellery: Neu Infinity, HDFC Millennia, Amazon Pay ICICI and Jupiter Edge+. Enter your purchase to see which one earns you the most.

Enter the amount you plan to spend on jewellery. If you can split the bill across more than one statement cycle, pick that too, because it can lift the cap on some cards.

Spread over how many statement cycles?
A statement cycle is roughly one month. Paying part of the bill in one cycle and part in the next gives each cycle its own cashback cap. Only do this if your jeweller accepts split payments.
Which credit cards give cashback on jewellery?
We checked the same 11 cashback cards used in our cashback credit card comparison. Only four give any reward on jewellery. The rest exclude it.
| Card | Jewellery cashback | Cap | Annual fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neu Infinity | 1.5% | ₹2,000 per statement cycle | ₹1,499 (waived at ₹3L yearly spend) |
| HDFC Millennia | 1% | ₹1,000 per statement cycle | ₹1,000 (waived at ₹1L yearly spend) |
| Amazon Pay ICICI | 1% | No cap | Lifetime free |

How the calculator works
It uses the same method as our main cashback calculator. For each card it multiplies your jewellery spend by the card's jewellery rate, then applies any cap per statement cycle. If you spread the purchase over several cycles, the amount is split evenly across them and the cashback is added up.
For example, a ₹5,00,000 purchase on HDFC Millennia at 1% would be ₹5,000, but the cap is ₹1,000 per cycle. Paid in one cycle you get ₹1,000. Split across three cycles you could get up to ₹3,000. Neu Infinity at 1.5% would be ₹7,500, but its cap is ₹2,000 per cycle. Paid in one cycle you get ₹2,000. Split across three cycles you could get up to ₹6,000. So for a large one-time purchase, Amazon Pay ICICI (₹5,000, no cap) beats Neu Infinity (₹2,000), while Neu Infinity wins on smaller purchases or when you split the bill.
Tips before you pay for jewellery by card
- Ask about card charges. Some jewellers add a surcharge on card payments or give a discount for UPI, bank transfer or cash. Compare that against the cashback before you swipe.
- Check what counts as jewellery. Gold coins, bars and gold savings schemes may be coded differently from jewellery, so they may not earn the same reward. Ask your card issuer.
- Mind your credit limit. A large purchase can use most of your limit and affect your credit utilisation. You can ask the bank for a temporary limit increase or split the payment.
- Pay the bill in full. Card interest is far higher than 1.5% cashback, so a ₹3,00,000 purchase left unpaid costs much more than it earns. Read 7 things to know before applying for a cashback credit card.
- Keep the invoice. Hallmark and purchase details help with resale, insurance and returns.
Frequently asked questions
Which credit card gives the most cashback on jewellery in India?
In our comparison, Neu Infinity gives the highest jewellery rate at a flat 1.5%, capped at ₹2,000 cashback per statement cycle. HDFC Millennia, Amazon Pay ICICI and Jupiter Edge+ give 1%. Because of the caps, the best card for a large purchase can differ from the best card for a small one. Use the calculator on this page to see the exact amount for your purchase.
Do most cashback credit cards exclude jewellery?
Yes. Of the 11 cards we compare, PhonePe SBI Black, SBI Cashback, Swiggy HDFC BLCK and HSBC Live+ exclude jewellery, and PhonePe HDFC Ultimo, Flipkart Axis and Axis Cashback have no jewellery rate. Only four cards pay something.
Is there a cashback cap on jewellery purchases?
HDFC Millennia caps its 1% cashback at about ₹1,000 per statement cycle, which is roughly ₹1,00,000 of jewellery. Neu Infinity caps its 1.5% at ₹2,000 per statement cycle, which is roughly ₹1,33,000 of jewellery. Amazon Pay ICICI has no cap.
Can I split a jewellery purchase to earn more cashback?
On cards with a per-cycle cap, such as Neu Infinity and HDFC Millennia, paying part of the bill in one statement cycle and part in the next can earn more, because each cycle has its own cap. This only works if your jeweller accepts split payments.
Do jewellers charge extra for credit card payments?
Some do, and some offer a discount for UPI, bank transfer or cash instead. Ask before you pay and compare the charge or discount with the cashback you would earn.
Do gold coins, bars and gold schemes earn the same cashback as jewellery?
Not always. Banks may code gold coins, bars or monthly gold schemes differently from jewellery, and some exclude them. Check with your card issuer before a large purchase.

Rates and per-cycle caps come from each card issuer’s published terms and the same comparison chart (dated 26 May 2026) behind our cashback card comparison. Banks decide by merchant category code whether a purchase counts as jewellery, so a jeweller registered under a different code may earn less. Rates are re-checked when a bank announces a change and at least once a quarter. Spotted a wrong figure? Tell us through the feedback form on the main calculator page.
